In 2008, we came up with the idea that it would be a good plan to organize a festival on our favorite Wadden Island, where we could take our children along.
That became Into the Great Wide Open, a festival where the island serves as the stage, with music, art, good food, and a truly excellent children's program. The first edition was in 2009 and it has since grown into a successful and often imitated festival.

In the early years, I did all the design work myself. Later, we decided to give graphic designers and artists full creative freedom over the festival’s visual identity for each edition. That way, the design became part of the program.
In 2023, I took care of the design one last time myself.
